Fees, fairness & booking

Universal Credit? We offer a 10% discount on our standard fees for clients receiving Universal Credit (confirmation of entitlement may be requested). If you're experiencing financial hardship without Universal Credit, you're welcome to talk to us about your circumstances.

Payment plans. Payment plans of up to three months may be available for clients receiving benefits or experiencing financial hardship. All arrangements are agreed in advance.

Booking & deposits. A 50% deposit is required before work begins or a court date is secured, unless otherwise agreed. The balance for court attendance is due at least 7 days before the hearing. All fees are confirmed before any work begins.

Where we cover. Based in North Oxfordshire, we provide in-person court attendance within an 80-mile driving radius (travel included in fixed-fee packages). Attendance further afield may be available by request. Remote support is available across England & Wales.

We provide non-legal support only and do not offer legal advice or representation. You remain responsible for reviewing, approving and submitting your own court documents.

What is a McKenzie Friend?

A McKenzie Friend is someone who supports a person representing themselves in court (a "litigant in person"). We are not solicitors or barristers and we don't give legal advice — instead, we help you understand the process, get organised and feel calmer and more prepared.

In line with the judicial Practice Guidance on McKenzie Friends, we can:

  • Sit beside you in court and provide quiet, moral support
  • Take notes during your hearing
  • Help you organise your court bundle, evidence and documents
  • Quietly prompt you and help you keep track of what you want to say

A judge may occasionally allow a McKenzie Friend to speak, but this is entirely at the court's discretion. You should let the court know in advance that you'd like to bring a McKenzie Friend — we'll explain how.

Who we help

  • Parents applying for, or responding to, a child arrangements order (C100)
  • People applying for a non-molestation or occupation order (FL401)
  • Anyone facing a family or civil hearing without a solicitor
