Fees, fairness & booking

Universal Credit? We offer a 10% discount on our standard fees for clients receiving Universal Credit (confirmation of entitlement may be requested). If you're experiencing financial hardship without Universal Credit, you're welcome to talk to us about your circumstances.

Packages. Need help with several things - for example forms, statements and court attendance? Packages (bundles of support) can be discussed during your free consultation.

Payment plans. Payment plans of up to three months may be available for clients receiving benefits or experiencing financial hardship. All arrangements are agreed in advance.

Booking & deposits. A 50% deposit is required before work begins or a court date is secured, unless otherwise agreed. The balance for court attendance is due at least 7 days before the hearing. All fees are confirmed before any work begins.

Where we cover. Based in North Oxfordshire, we provide in-person court attendance within an 80-mile driving radius (travel included in fixed-fee packages). Attendance further afield may be available by request. Remote support is available across England & Wales.

We provide non-legal support only and do not offer legal advice or representation. You remain responsible for reviewing, approving and submitting your own court documents.

How divorce works

Divorce in England & Wales is "no-fault" - nobody has to be blamed.

  • Apply for a divorce, usually online
  • Wait 20 weeks, then apply for the conditional order
  • Wait at least 6 weeks and 1 day, then apply for the final order, which ends the marriage

How financial settlements work

The divorce doesn't settle your finances. Property, savings, pensions, debts and maintenance need to be dealt with separately.

  • If you agree: make it legally binding with a consent order, approved by the court
  • If you don't: apply on Form A, exchange finances on Form E, then attend the First Directions Appointment (FDA) and Financial Dispute Resolution (FDR) hearing

How we help

  • Explain each stage and what to expect
  • Help you complete your forms and organise your financial documents
  • Prepare your statements and court bundle
  • Sit beside you at your hearings and take notes

Settlements can affect you for years, especially where pensions or property are involved. We recommend independent legal advice on the terms before you agree.
